my mr coffee machine won't power on at all, the clock doesn't even show up. checked the outlet and it's fine.

Check the polarized plug. One blade is wider than the other. If it doesn't fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit or fits loosely, do not use that outlet. Contact a qualified electrician.

Also, ensure the appliance is placed on a hard, flat, level surface to avoid interrupting airflow underneath.
