avid power drill battery won't charge, charger light doesn't come on. help?

Diagnosis: The charging circuit is not complete. This is a three-point checklist.

  • Charger plugged in? Plug the charger into a known working 120V outlet.
  • Battery fully seated? Insert the battery pack into the charger until the green LED appears.
  • Ambient temperature correct? Move the charger and battery to a location where the air temperature is above 40°F (4.5°C) and below 105°F (40.5°C). Charging outside this range is prevented.

If that didn't work, the charger or battery is likely damaged. Do not operate a charger with a damaged cord or plug. Do not use a battery pack that has been dropped, pierced, or crushed. Damaged battery packs should be returned to a service center for recycling. Never attempt to open the battery pack.

Heads up: Charge only designated Black+Decker batteries. Using other types of batteries may cause them to burst.
