DIAGNOSIS The machine is failing its initial heat-up check. The most likely culprit is a failed thermal fuse on the main thermoblock heating unit. If the thermoblock doesn't reach a certain temperature fast enough, the machine aborts the cycle for safety.
FIX This requires opening the base of the machine. Unplug it and remove the four rubber feet/screws on the bottom. You're looking for a small, usually white, ceramic fuse attached to the metal heating block. Test it for continuity with a multimeter—it should have none (it's a one-time fuse). If blown, you need to replace it with an identical-rated thermal fuse (commonly 169°C/336°F). Solder it in place, ensuring good thermal contact with the block.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the fuse is intact, the thermoblock heating element itself might be dead. You can test its resistance; it should read between 15-30 ohms. If it's open (infinite resistance), the whole thermoblock assembly needs replacement.
