DIAGNOSIS This ties directly to the dead backup battery problem. The 'My Brew' profile is stored in volatile memory that needs that battery to retain settings when unplugged.
FIX As long as the machine stays plugged in, your settings *should* hold temporarily. But the permanent fix is replacing the internal CR2032 backup battery as described in the clock reset issue. Once that battery is fresh, set your 'My Brew' parameters (bloom time, pour speed, temperature), and they'll save even after a power outage.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the settings still don't save with a new battery, there might be a deeper issue with the memory on the main control board.
HEADS UP Before you open it up for the battery, try doing a full system reset: unplug for 10 minutes, hold the 'Power' and 'Strength' buttons while plugging it back in. Sometimes this clears a software glitch.
