DIAGNOSIS This is a classic airflow and thermostat setting problem. The cold air vent is at the back, so items directly in front of it freeze, while the door area is warmest.
FIX Adjust what you store where. Drinks and items you want coldest go near the back wall. Dairy and items sensitive to freezing go on the door or front of the shelf. Then, adjust the thermostat dial down one number (e.g., from 5 to 4) and wait 24 hours.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The fridge might be overloaded. Remove some items to ensure air can circulate freely from the back vent to the front. Blocked airflow creates extreme temperature zones.
HEADS UP The temperature varies significantly from back to front by design. There is no separate thermostat for the freezer compartment—the dial controls the whole cavity, so finding the right setting is a balancing act.
