Diagnosis
Occasional pops are often related to the amplifier circuits powering up or down, or a brief interruption in the audio signal. Frequent crackling during use points to a connection problem.
How to Fix It
For turn-on/off pops, try changing the power-on sequence. Turn on your TV first, let it boot fully, and then turn on the soundbar. This gives the TV's audio output time to stabilize before the soundbar's amp kicks on. For crackling during use, focus on your audio cable. If you're using the optical cable, ensure it's firmly seated and isn't bent sharply right at the connectors. Try wiggling the cable gently where it plugs in—if the crackling changes, the cable or port is likely the issue.
If That Didn't Work
The problem could be electrical interference. Make sure your soundbar's power cord and audio cables (especially if using AUX) are not bundled tightly together with power cords for other devices. Separate them by a few inches. Also, plug the soundbar into a different outlet on a different circuit if possible to rule out a dirty power source.
Heads Up
A single, soft pop when powering on or off is fairly normal for many amplifiers and isn't a sign of failure. Consistent, loud popping or crackling that happens randomly during playback is more concerning and could indicate a failing capacitor or other internal component.
