i just got a replacement filter for my 211 plus but the red power light stays on after i install it.

The red power light (or filter indicator) on the Blueair Blue Pure 211 Plus remains illuminated because the internal timer for the filter life has not been manually reset. Unlike some high-end smart appliances, the Blue Pure 211 Plus does not utilize an RFID chip or electronic sensor to "detect" the presence of a new filter. Instead, it relies on a pre-programmed countdown timer based on the hours of operation at specific fan speeds. When the red light triggers, it indicates that the calculated lifespan of the previous filter has expired. Simply sliding a new filter into the chassis does not communicate this change to the control board. To the machine, the "expired" status remains active until a specific sequence of button presses is performed to clear the memory and restart the countdown for the next 6-12 months of use.

How to Fix It

To reset the filter indicator and turn off the red warning light, follow this precise sequence:

1. Ensure the unit is plugged into a grounded AC outlet and is currently powered ON.
2. Locate the power button on the top control panel.
3. Press and hold the power button for exactly 3 to 5 seconds. You will see the red light flash or the display cycle through its settings.
4. Continue holding the button until the red light disappears completely or the indicator light turns off.
5. Release the button. The unit should now be in its normal operating mode with the filter alert cleared.
6. If the light does not clear on the first attempt, power the unit completely OFF using the switch, wait 10 seconds, power it back ON, and repeat the hold sequence.

If That Didn't Work
