When the device indicates a "full" charge but depletes rapidly, you are likely experiencing "Voltage Sag" or a "False Positive" charge reading. This occurs when the battery's internal resistance increases due to age or chemical degradation, causing the voltage to spike quickly during charging (tricking the sensor into thinking it's full) but crashing immediately under the high-torque load of the magnetic drive system. Another common culprit is a "software loop" caused by the Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) module. If the brush is constantly searching for the Oral-B app or struggling to maintain a handshake with your smartphone, the wireless chip remains in an active state rather than entering deep sleep. This creates a parasitic drain that bypasses the standard power-saving modes, leading to a rapid discharge even when the brush is not in use. You can confirm this by noticing the Bluetooth icon on the OLED display blinking frequently or by feeling a slight warmth emanating from the handle while the brush is powered off.
How to Fix It
To resolve the parasitic drain and attempt to stabilize the battery chemistry, follow these precise steps:
