DIAGNOSIS Your observation is correct for many dehumidifiers, but this model uses a slightly different cycle. The exhaust air temperature is much closer to room temp, which is a design choice for efficiency in living spaces.
FIX This isn't a fault. Place your hand near the top air outlet while it's running. You should feel air that is slightly drier and *maybe* 1-3 degrees warmer than the room, but not hot. If the air feels cool or cold, then the unit might be in de-icing mode or the room is simply very cold—see the 'not collecting water' problem.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If you're genuinely concerned about performance, verify humidity removal with a separate hygrometer. Set the unit to 45% RH and let it run for 6 hours in a closed room. If the hygrometer reads much higher, then there's an issue.
HEADS UP A complete lack of any temperature differential (air in feels exactly like air out) could indicate the compressor isn't running at all—listen for the distinct dual sounds of fan + deeper compressor hum.
