it's making a loud grinding noise when brewing, sounds like it's struggling, and my coffee cup is only half full

DIAGNOSIS The multi-stream needle is clogged with coffee grounds or scale, blocking water flow and causing the pump to strain.

FIX Power off and unplug the brewer. Open the lid and inspect the top needle assembly inside the K-pod holder. Use the included cleaning tool (a thin pin) or a unfolded paperclip to gently clear any visible grounds from the holes in the gray needle plate. Then, run a water-only brew cycle without a pod to flush it.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The clog may be deeper in the internal line. Remove the water reservoir and look up into the bottom where it sits—clear any debris from the intake valve with a damp cloth. Then run 3-4 water-only brew cycles in succession.

HEADS UP This often happens after using reusable pods or off-brand pods that don't seal well. Always lift and close the handle firmly to pierce the pod cleanly. If the noise continues, internal scale buildup is the next culprit, requiring a descale.
