DIAGNOSIS Excessive vibration is typically a blade or technique issue, not the tool motor. A dull, bent, or wrong-type blade is the primary cause.
FIX Install a fresh, sharp blade suited for your material. For straight cuts in wood, use a coarse-tooth blade (e.g., 6-10 TPI). Ensure the orbital setting (dial behind the clamp) is appropriate: lower or off for metal/clean cuts, higher for faster wood cuts. Let the tool and blade do the work—don't push sideways or apply excessive forward pressure.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the roller guide. The small wheel behind the blade clamp should be touching the back of the blade. If it's retracted or broken, it won't support the blade, causing deflection.
HEADS UP The shoe must be firmly pressed against the workpiece. If the shoe is bent or loose, it will tilt the blade. Tighten the shoe screw if there's any play.
