The coffeemaker is not plugged into a working outlet. Check the connection.
If the plug has one blade wider than the other, it's polarized. Make sure it's inserted fully into the outlet. If it doesn't fit, reverse it. If it still doesn't fit, contact an electrician. Do not modify the plug.
