my black and decker coffee maker won't turn on at all, no lights nothing. i just plugged it in.

Check the outlet first. Plug something else in to confirm it's working.

Make sure the power cord is fully seated in the outlet. If the plug feels loose or won't go in all the way, reverse it—the blade is polarized. If it still won't fit, the outlet needs service.
