DIAGNOSIS That's hard water residue. While this model has a built-in water softener, it needs to be regenerated with special salt, and you might be using the wrong detergent or not enough of it.
FIX First, fill the salt compartment in the bottom of the tub (under the lower rack) with dishwasher salt, not table salt. Then, run a Sani Rinse or Clean cycle to let it regenerate. For detergent, use a good quality powder or gel, and make sure you're filling both the main wash and pre-wash compartments in the dispenser.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your water might be exceptionally hard. Check that the built-in softener's hardness setting is configured correctly for your area via the wash cycle buttons (hold Soil and Power for 3 seconds to enter settings mode). has the chart.
HEADS UP Don't use "all-in-one" pods or tablets if you have hard water and are using the built-in softener. They contain their own softeners that can overdose the system and leave a different kind of film. Stick to separate detergent and rinse aid.
