my nighthawk raxe500 router shows a solid white ring but i have no internet, what gives?

DIAGNOSIS The router has powered on and established its local network, but the connection to your Internet Service Provider has failed. This is almost always a WAN port or ISP authentication issue.

FIX First, check the physical connection. Ensure the Ethernet cable from your modem is firmly seated in the router's yellow Internet/WAN port. Power cycle both devices: unplug your modem and router for 60 seconds. Plug the modem in, wait for its lights to stabilize, then plug the router in. Wait for the white ring.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Log into routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1. Go to Internet > Internet Setup. If your ISP requires specific settings (like PPPoE), enter them here. For most, leaving it on 'Get Automatically from ISP' is correct. Click Apply.

HEADS UP A solid white ring means the router is fully booted. If the internet is still down after these steps, the problem is likely with your modem or your ISP's service, not the RAXE500.
