Yeah, the Bluetooth connection is finicky. First, on Android, you must allow the app access to your phone's location information when prompted. Otherwise, the Bluetooth connection won't work at all.
Make sure you're holding the power button for 2 seconds to turn the printer on with Bluetooth enabled. Also, keep the printer within range and on a flat surface—it's a precision device and doesn't like being moved around during use.
