Diagnosis
Audible coil whine from the internal driver circuit. This is a common physical trait in many dimmable LED bulbs, especially at mid-to-low brightness levels.
How to Fix It
The noise is inherent to the electrical components and cannot be eliminated via software. Adjust the brightness level up or down by 5-10%; often a specific percentage range triggers the resonance. Using the bulb at 100% or 0% (off) typically eliminates the sound.
If That Didn't Work
Ensure the bulb is screwed in securely to a properly wired fixture. A loose connection can exacerbate electrical noise. Try the bulb in a different fixture to rule out fixture interaction.
Heads Up
While annoying, a faint buzz is generally not a safety hazard. However, a loud buzz, crackle, or smell indicates a serious fault—immediately power off and replace the bulb.
