the brew button on my k-express doesn't light up or respond when i press it, machine has power

— asked by Morgan

DIAGNOSIS A software lockout has occurred, often due to low water or a priming error.

FIX Unplug the machine from the wall outlet for 60 seconds. Plug it back in. Ensure the water reservoir is completely full and correctly seated. The power light should turn solid. Press the 'Strong' button to toggle it off (no light). Now press the desired brew size button (6oz, 8oz, 10oz, 12oz). It should light up and begin heating.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The touchpad membrane is faulty. Try pressing the buttons with a firm, deliberate touch. If unresponsive, the control board needs replacement.

HEADS UP This model does not have a separate power button. The brew buttons also control power state. A non-responsive button after a reset indicates a hardware failure.
