Diagnosis
The front panel brightness is set to 'High' by default and there is no 'Off' setting, only a dimmer mode.
How to Fix It
Dim the display to its lowest setting.
- Press the 'Settings' button on the remote until 'Display' appears on the (bright) display.
- Press Volume Down to change the setting from 'High' to 'Low'.
- The display will now only light up briefly when you change a setting, then fade to a very dim standby.
If That Didn't Work
If 'Low' is still too bright, your only option is to physically block it. A small piece of removable black electrical tape placed carefully over the display window is the common owner fix.
Heads Up
In 'Low' mode, the display is nearly invisible in a well-lit room. You'll need to rely on audio cues or the remote's buttons to know your input/volume level.
