When these particles accumulate on the impeller blades, they create an imbalance, leading to a high-frequency vibration or "buzzing" sound. If the noise is a rhythmic, metallic grinding, the issue is likely "bearing play." This happens when the internal shaft of the fan loses its alignment or the lubricant dries out, causing the blade assembly to strike the side of the fan housing. You can confirm this by placing the projector on a hard, flat surface; if the noise changes pitch or intensity when you tilt the device at a 45-degree angle, it is almost certainly a mechanical bearing issue or a loose piece of debris rattling within the chassis.

How to Fix It

To resolve noise caused by debris accumulation, follow these precise cleaning steps:

1. Power down the projector completely and unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet to prevent electrostatic discharge or accidental fan spin-up.
2. Place the unit on a stable surface and locate the ventilation grilles on the rear and the underside of the chassis.
3. Using a can of compressed air (ensure the nozzle is the thin straw attachment), hold the can upright to avoid spraying liquid propellant into the electronics.
4. Insert the straw into the vents and deliver short, 1-second bursts of air. Do not hold the trigger down for long periods, as this can over-spin the fan and damage the motor windings.
