DIAGNOSIS Either the remote’s infrared LED has failed (common) or the infrared receiver sensor on the fan’s control panel is blocked or dead.
FIX First, test if it’s the remote. Use your smartphone’s camera. 1) Point the remote at your phone’s camera lens. 2) Press any button on the remote. 3) Look at your phone screen. If you see a faint white or purple light flashing from the tip of the remote, it’s working. If you see no light, the remote is dead and needs replacement. Search for "Lasko 2511 remote control" for an exact match.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the remote lights up in the camera test, then the fan’s IR receiver is the issue. Check the small, dark plastic window on the fan’s control panel. Make sure it’s not obscured by dust or a sticker. If it’s clean, the receiver component on the internal circuit board may have failed, requiring a board replacement.
HEADS UP These remasters are simple and not universal. You must get the specific replacement for the 2511 model. Also, bright sunlight or other strong IR sources (like some LED lights) can sometimes interfere with the signal.
