DIAGNOSIS This is excessive play in the shoe pivot or mounting. The shoe is attached with a single bolt and a pivot bushing. Wear or a loose bolt causes this wobble.
FIX Check the shoe adjustment bolt (the large bolt in the center of the shoe). Tighten it with the provided hex key. If the wobble remains, the pivot bushing or the shoe itself is worn. The bushing (part of the shoe assembly) is not separately serviced.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The shoe may be cracked where the pivot bolt passes through. Inspect the shoe for hairline fractures. A cracked shoe requires full replacement (part number 49-16-2801).
HEADS UP A wobbly shoe reduces cutting control and accelerates blade wear. Always ensure the shoe is tight and square to the blade before starting a cut.
