DIAGNOSIS Your device is "sticky" to the first point it connected to. Nest WiFi's mesh steering isn't aggressively kicking your device to the stronger signal, which is a common complaint.
FIX In the Google Home app, go to WiFi > Devices, select your problem device, and tap "Use device location to improve WiFi." This helps the system make better handoff decisions.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Temporarily disable the Point's WiFi broadcast to force your device onto the router. In the Google Home app, select the Point, go to Settings > Disable WiFi. Re-enable it after your device is connected to the router.
HEADS UP This is often worse with Apple devices (iPhones, MacBooks). They tend to cling to a network until the signal is almost gone. Repositioning the Point farther from the router can sometimes create a clearer "zone" for it to manage.
