Diagnosis
Water leaking from the pump housing indicates a failed seal. The most common leak point is the seal around the plunger area.
How to Fix It
Identify the exact leak source. Common on axial pumps is the seal kit (often called a “water end seal kit”). For a definitive fix, you'll need to replace the seal kit, which requires partial pump disassembly.
If That Didn't Work
If water is leaking from a drain plug or a freeze plug, ensure those plugs are tightened securely (but don't over-torque the plastic).
Heads Up
A small weep hole is normal for condensation. A steady stream or drip during operation is the problem. Continuing to run with a bad seal can damage the pump's internal components.
