Diagnosis: The 5GHz network might be disabled, or you're connecting to the default network name before setup is complete.
Fix: First, connect to the default network and finish the setup process.
- On your phone, go to Wi-Fi settings and look for the network name (SSID) printed on the label on the back of the router. It will be something like ASUS_XX (where XX are digits). This is a combined network.
- Connect to it. Once connected, open a browser and go to http://router.asus.com to launch the setup wizard.
- During setup, you'll be prompted to set names and passwords for both your 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Make sure you assign a unique name (SSID) to the 5GHz network.
- After applying the settings, your new 5GHz network name will appear in your phone's Wi-Fi list.
If that didn't work: Download the ASUS Router app on your phone. Turn on Wi-Fi, connect to the router's default network (ASUS_XX), and follow the app's setup instructions. The app will guide you through enabling both bands.
