Diagnosis
Yeah, outdoor cameras get dirty—water spots, dust, pollen, or spider webs on the outer lens dome. It doesn't take much to diffuse the light and make the image look soft or hazy.
How to Fix It
Power down the camera for safety. Use a soft microfiber cloth, slightly dampened with distilled water (to avoid mineral spots), to gently wipe the clear plastic dome. For stubborn spots, a tiny drop of mild dish soap on the damp cloth can help. Dry it thoroughly with a clean, dry part of the cloth. Avoid paper towels, as they can scratch.
If That Didn't Work
If the blurriness is on the *inside* of the dome (like a permanent film or condensation), that's a sealing issue as mentioned earlier. Cleaning the outside won't fix that.
Heads Up
Never use window cleaners, solvents, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners on the lens dome. They can permanently damage the anti-glare or anti-reflective coating, making the haze worse. Just mild soap and water.
