To upgrade, you need the correct bar and matching chain (pitch and gauge must match the drive sprocket). You also must ensure the oil pump output is sufficient to lubricate the longer bar. The standard pump may be adequate, but consult a dealer.
Using an excessively long bar strains the engine, increases kickback risk, and can lead to premature clutch and sprocket wear. The saw is designed as a balanced system.
Heads up: Always use the bar length specified for your model variant. If you need a 24-inch bar, the correct model is the Husqvarna 460 Rancher 24-Inch.
