Yes. That function is called Access Point (AP) mode. In this mode, your Deco takes an internet signal from your existing router and creates a Wi-Fi mesh network, extending coverage without performing router duties.
To set it up:
- Set up your Deco system normally using the app, connecting the main Deco to a LAN port on your existing router (not its WAN port).
- During or after setup, open the Deco app menu.
- Tap Advanced.
- Tap Operating Mode.
- Select Access Point mode. The app will guide you through the change.
Note: In Access Point mode, these advanced features become unavailable: Parental Controls, QoS, IPv4 settings, Address Reservation, Port Forwarding, and the DHCP server. Your main router continues to handle those tasks.
HEADS UP: For the simplest setup, disable the Wi-Fi on your existing router and let the Deco mesh handle all wireless coverage. This prevents device roaming issues between two different Wi-Fi networks.
