canon pixma mg3620 printing blurry or with streaks, lines are missing. how do i fix this?

You've got a clogged print head. It happens, especially if the printer hasn't been used in a while. Here's how to clear it up.

First, try a standard cleaning from the printer itself:

  1. Make sure the power is on.
  2. Hold down the Stop button until the orange Alarm lamp flashes two times, then let go.
  3. The machine will start cleaning. Just wait—it takes about a minute or two. You'll know it's done when the white ON lamp lights up after flashing.
  4. After cleaning, print a nozzle check pattern to see if the streaks are gone.

If that didn't work: The clog might be stubborn. You need a deep cleaning. The process is almost the same, but you hold the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes three times, then release. Wait another 1-2 minutes for it to finish.

If the problem still isn't fixed after a deep cleaning, turn the power off, wait 24 hours, and try the deep cleaning one more time. Don't unplug the cord when turning it off. If streaks persist after that, it's probably time for a new FINE cartridge.
