A solid green light means the Deco units are connected to each other, but device dropouts point to interference or a feature conflict. Start with the most common fix.
Disable Fast Roaming. Some older client devices don't handle 802.11k/v/r standards well, causing disconnects.
- Open the Deco app.
- Tap the menu, go to Advanced.
- Scroll to Fast Roaming.
- Toggle it OFF.
- Reboot your Deco network from the app and test.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The issue could be channel interference or beamforming. Try disabling Beamforming in the same Advanced menu. Also, ensure your units are not placed near large metal objects, microwaves, or cordless phone bases. If you added a new device (like a baby monitor) that uses the 2.4GHz band, it could be causing congestion.
HEADS UP: For critical devices like smart locks or security cameras, use the Address Reservation feature (in Advanced menu when in Router mode) to give them a fixed IP. This prevents them from losing connection due to DHCP lease issues.
