The charger is indicating a Hot/Cold Pack Delay. The battery pack is outside the acceptable temperature range for charging.
- Remove the battery pack from the charger.
- Allow the battery to cool down if it's hot from use, or warm up if it's cold (e.g., from a garage in winter).
- Insert the battery pack into the charger only when it is at room temperature.
- A proper charging sequence: the red light blinks continuously.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK:
- Confirm you are using a compatible D WALT charger. Never force the pack. Consult the compatibility chart.
- Check the charger cavity and battery terminals for foreign conductive material like metal chips or grinding dust. Unplug the charger and clean it out.
HEADS UP: Charge only D WALT rechargeable battery packs. Other types may overheat and burst. Do not charge in explosive atmospheres or in the presence of flammable dust.
