Some warmth is normal, but excessive heat is a danger sign. First, check the charger's placement and condition.
- Do not place any object on top of the charger.
- Do not place the charger on a soft surface like a bed or sofa that blocks the ventilation slots.
- Place the charger away from any heat source and in a well-ventilated area.
IF THE BATTERY IS STILL OVERHEATING:
- Unplug the charger immediately and remove the hot battery pack. Let it cool to room temperature.
- Inspect the battery for swelling, cracks, or leaks. Under abusive conditions, liquid can be ejected. If contact occurs, flush with water. If it contacts eyes, rinse for 15 minutes and seek medical help.
- Only charge DeWalt rechargeable battery packs. Other types of batteries may overheat and burst.
HEADS UP: Do not charge the battery pack with any chargers other than the specified DeWalt charger. The charger and battery are specifically designed to work together.
