Diagnosis
This error pops up when the camera can't reliably distinguish motion from the background, usually because of constant, rapid changes in the scene—like tree branches blowing wildly in high wind, heavy rain/snow, or shifting shadows from clouds.
How to Fix It
You need to adjust your Motion Sensitivity zone and settings. 1) In the app, go to the camera's settings and open 'Motion Detection'. 2) First, try lowering the sensitivity slider a notch or two. 3) More importantly, use the 'Motion Zones' tool. Draw zones that cover only the areas you care about (like your driveway or porch), and explicitly exclude areas with constant motion (like a busy street, a flag, or large trees). This tells the camera to ignore motion in those excluded zones.
If That Didn't Work
If the weather is just terrible (a blizzard, torrential rain), the feature might temporarily disable itself. Wait for the weather to calm down and see if the error clears. If it's persistent even on calm, clear days, there might be a software glitch. Try a simple reboot by unplugging the camera for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
Heads Up
Remember, this camera uses pixel-based detection, not a passive infrared (PIR) sensor. It's comparing video frames. Things like a spinning pinwheel, a fountain, or very long grass waving can all trigger it to disable motion alerts to avoid sending you hundreds of useless clips. Fine-tuning your zones is the key.
