DIAGNOSIS Dust and fingerprints degrade video quality. The lens is plastic and scratches easily.
FIX Power off and unplug the camera. Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth (like for glasses). Gently wipe the lens in a circular motion from the center outward. Do not use liquids, cleaners, or paper towels.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK For stubborn smudges, lightly breathe on the lens to fog it, then immediately wipe with the dry microfiber cloth. The minimal moisture from your breath is safe.
HEADS UP Never press hard on the lens dome. The housing isn't designed for pressure and you could damage the internal focus. Avoid canned air, which can force dust inside.
