Diagnosis
That 'weird' feeling is the strong matte anti-glare coating. It's effective but can be a fingerprint magnet and requires the right cleaning method to avoid smearing or damage.
How to Fix It
Power off and unplug the monitor. Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth (like the kind for glasses) first to gently wipe away dust. For smudges, slightly dampen a part of the microfiber cloth with distilled water or a tiny amount of isopropyl alcohol (no more than 70% solution). Wring it out completely—it should be barely damp. Wipe the screen gently in a circular motion, then immediately dry and polish with a dry part of the cloth. Never spray liquid directly onto the screen.
If That Didn't Work
For stubborn marks, use a dedicated monitor cleaning solution sprayed directly onto the microfiber cloth, never the screen. Avoid anything with ammonia, acetone, or ethyl alcohol (like Windex or generic glass cleaner), as they can degrade the anti-glare coating over time, making it look hazy.
Heads Up
The coating is quite durable, but abrasive cloths (paper towels, old t-shirts) can create tiny scratches that catch the light. Stick to microfiber and light pressure.
