how do i store my keurig classic coffee maker if i'm not using it for a few months?

You must empty all water to prevent internal damage from freezing or stagnation.

Procedure:

  1. Ensure the water fill lid is closed.
  2. Place a cup on the drip tray plate. Press and hold the brew button until all water has dispensed. Note: there is a 4-5 second delay before water starts.
  3. Unplug the brewer.
  4. Wipe the hot water tank with a damp, lint-free cloth.
  5. Store the brewer upright in a frost-free, dry environment.

When retrieving from storage: If stored in a cold environment, let it warm to room temperature for 2 hours before using. Condensation or freezing inside can cause damage. Before first use, run three cleansing brews without a K-Cup using bottled water.

Heads up: Never immerse the base unit in water or other liquids. Clean only with a damp, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth.
