DIAGNOSIS The PBLDD01B has a two-speed mechanical transmission controlled by a gear selector, not an electronic variable trigger. You are likely in high speed (marked '2') which provides less torque and less trigger control at low speed.
FIX Locate the sliding gear selector on top of the drill, near the base of the chuck. Slide it forward to position '1' for low speed/high torque. The trigger will now provide finer control at lower RPMs, ideal for starting screws and high-torque drilling.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your trigger pull may be too aggressive. In speed '1', practice pulling the trigger only 10-20% of its travel. The brushless motor responds precisely to tiny trigger movements for very slow rotation.
HEADS UP The gear selector must be slid fully to one position or the other. An intermediate position will cause grinding and damage the transmission. Always change gears only when the drill is completely stopped.
