DIAGNOSIS Reduced torque output. Common causes are using the wrong gear, a dirty/worn clutch setting, or carbon brush dust in a non-brushless tool—but this is a brushless motor. The issue is likely the clutch ring or gear setting.
FIX First, check the gear selector. Ensure it is in '1' for maximum torque. Second, check the torque clutch ring. Turn it to the drill bit symbol. This bypasses the clutch and delivers maximum torque from the motor. Test the tool.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The problem may be mechanical binding. Remove the bit and run the drill at full speed in gear '2' with no load. Listen for grinding or straining noises. Binding in the chuck or transmission reduces effective torque.
HEADS UP Using a worn or non-HP battery can cause perceived weakness. The HP drill draws more current. A standard ONE+ battery, even if fully charged, may sag under load and trigger the tool's overload protection prematurely.
