DIAGNOSIS The interior is designed to be cleaned, but you have to know how the parts come out. The drip tray at the very bottom is removable, and that's where spills often pool.
FIX Here's the full breakdown. 1) Unplug the unit and remove all drinks. 2) The wire shelves simply lift up and out. 3) The plastic drip tray is the key. Grip it at the front and pull it straight towards you. It will slide out. 4) Wash the shelves and drip tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. 5) Wipe down the interior walls and floor with a mild cleaner. Avoid abrasive scrubs on the plastic. 6. Let everything air dry fully before reassembling and plugging back in.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the spill was sticky and has hardened under where the drip tray sits, you might need to carefully tip the unit back (with help, and only slightly) to access and wipe that area. Be extremely gentle and have someone hold it.
HEADS UP Never use steam cleaners, harsh chemicals like bleach, or pressurized water inside. You can damage the plastic, the light fixture, and force moisture into electrical components. Stick to a damp cloth with dish soap.
