DIAGNOSIS These beverage coolers are designed for a specific temperature range (usually around 40-50°F), not refrigerator temps (34-38°F). However, if it's not hitting its own target, common culprits are overloading, poor ventilation, or a warm room.
FIX Run through this checklist. 1) Ventilation: Is there at least 4 inches of clear space on all sides, especially the back and top where the heat exhaust is? Move it if not. 2) Load: Is it packed solid? Air needs to circulate inside. Remove some items to create space. 3) Ambient Temp: Is it in a hot garage or next to an oven? These units struggle in rooms above 80°F. 4) Thermostat: Try turning the dial *down* from max to a mid-setting, wait 12 hours, then back to max. Sometimes the dial's contact point gets lazy.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If after all that it's still performing poorly, the refrigerant charge might be low or there could be a restriction in the cooling system. This is a sealed system issue requiring a professional technician.
HEADS UP Don't use it to try and chill room-temperature drinks quickly. Always put in pre-chilled drinks from your main fridge. The small compressor isn't built for a big heat-pull-down; it's for maintaining temperature.
