Diagnosis
This is usually a supply water issue. The dishwasher is not filling within the allowed time, triggering a safety timeout. The fill valve screen is clogged or water pressure is too low.
How to Fix It
Shut off water supply. Disconnect the fill hose from the valve under the sink. Check the small inlet screen on the dishwasher's fill valve for sediment. Use needle-nose pliers to gently remove and clean it. Reconnect everything and test.
If That Didn't Work
Test water pressure to the valve. It must be between 20 and 120 psi. Low pressure from a kinked hose or partially closed valve will cause this. Also, the pressure switch could be faulty.
Heads Up
If the fill valve itself is faulty (part WR49X10044), it may stick open and cause an overfill. The float switch should stop it, but replace a faulty valve immediately.
