DIAGNOSIS The 35lb rating is under ideal lab conditions: 70°F room temp and 60°F water. Real-world output is always lower. Slow production is almost always an ambient temperature issue.
FIX Move the ice maker. It needs at least 6 inches of clearance on all sides, especially the back. Never put it in direct sunlight or near an oven. The room must be below 80°F for it to approach its rated output. The compressor can't shed heat if the air around it is hot.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The evaporator plate is scaled up. Unplug the machine. Look at the metal freezing plate inside the ice chamber. If it's coated with white mineral deposits, it insulates the plate. You need to descale with citric acid or vinegar, scrubbing the plate gently with a soft brush.
HEADS UP These are small compressor-based machines. They need to rest. After 30-45 minutes of continuous ice making, the compressor may cycle off for 10-15 minutes to cool down. This is normal, not a defect.
