DIAGNOSIS A slow leak from the bottom usually means water isn't being contained where it should be. The most common culprits are an overfilled reservoir, a misaligned or cracked reservoir, or a clogged drain hole.
FIX 1) Immediately turn off and unplug the unit. Move it and dry your counter. 2) Pull out the water reservoir. Check for any visible cracks, especially along the seams. 3) Look inside the unit where the reservoir sits. There's a small drain hole in that cavity. Use a cotton swab or pipe cleaner to gently clear any debris from that hole. 4) Ensure you're not filling the reservoir past the MAX line. Overfilling causes spillover into areas that drain to the bottom. 5. Reinstall the reservoir carefully, making sure it sits flat and level.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The leak might be internal, from a disconnected drain tube. This requires a bit more investigation. With the unit off and unplugged, you can peer into the back (through the vents) with a flashlight. Look for any obvious drips or moisture around the plastic tubing. If you see that, it's a warranty claim.
HEADS UP Always use the unit on a level, waterproof surface. Even a slight tilt can cause water to channel out of its normal path and find a way to the exterior.
