DIAGNOSIS The machine has reached its programmed cleaning alert, usually after 30-40 cycles. It's a reminder, not an error.
FIX You must run the cleaning cycle. Unplug the unit. Empty all ice and water. Mix 1 quart of warm water with 2 teaspoons of citric acid or white vinegar. Pour this into the rear water reservoir. Plug the unit back in. Press and hold the "Clean" button for 3 seconds. Let it run the full 25-minute cycle, then discard the solution.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the light continues blinking after a proper clean cycle, the sensor detecting cleaning solution conductivity may be faulty. Unplug for 10 minutes for a hard reset.
HEADS UP Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals. They will damage the silicone tubing and the evaporator coating. Citric acid is best for dissolving mineral scale.
