DIAGNOSIS This is normal. The 26 lb/day rating is under ideal lab conditions: 70°F room temp and 50°F water refilled constantly.
FIX Maximize output by ensuring optimal conditions. Keep room temperature below 80°F. Use cold tap water in the reservoir, not warm. Keep the rear reservoir topped off. Empty the ice basket frequently; a full basket slows production.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If production drops suddenly, check for scale buildup. Reduced water flow from a clogged filter or valve will severely cut output. Perform the cleaning cycle.
HEADS UP Real-world output is often 12-18 lbs per day. Each cycle makes about 1 lb of ice every 15-20 minutes, then pauses for 3 minutes. It also stops when the basket is full or the water tank is empty.
