Grease is dripping onto the heating element. Place the Baking Pan below the Crisper Tray or Wire Rack when cooking food with high moisture content like bacon.
The appliance also needs to be cleaned. Accessories have excess grease residue from previous cooking. Clean the components and appliance interior after each use.
