DIAGNOSIS Yes, that's completely normal and actually a good sign. That gurgling or bubbling sound is the refrigerant moving through the coils inside the walls as the compressor cycles on and off. You're hearing the normal operation of the cooling system.
FIX No fix needed—it's supposed to do that. The sound might be more noticeable when the compressor first kicks on to bring the temperature down after you've added warm items or opened the door a lot. It may also gurgle for a minute after the compressor shuts off.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the sound changes to a loud knocking, buzzing, or screeching, that's a different story. A loud buzz often points to a failing compressor. A knocking could be the compressor mounts are loose. But the steady liquid-flow gurgle is standard operating procedure.
HEADS UP The fridge will be noisiest during its initial 24-hour cool-down period after first being plugged in. Let it run for a full day before you decide the noise is a problem. If it's still too loud for your space, make sure it's level and not vibrating against a wall.
