my canon pixma mg3620 is printing with faint streaks and missing lines, how do i fix this?

The print head nozzles are clogged. You need to run a cleaning cycle.

From the printer itself:

  1. Make sure the power is on.
  2. Hold down the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes twice, then release it immediately.
  3. Wait for the ON lamp to stop flashing and stay lit (about 1-2 minutes). Do not touch anything during this time.

After cleaning, print a nozzle check pattern to see if the streaks are gone. If the print quality is still poor, you need to run a Deep Cleaning from the printer driver on your computer.

If that didn't work: If standard cleaning doesn't resolve it, perform a Deep Cleaning. On the printer, hold down the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes three times, then release. Wait for the ON lamp to stabilize. Deep cleaning uses more ink, so only do it if necessary.

Heads up: If the problem persists after a deep cleaning, turn the printer off (do not unplug it) for 24 hours, then run deep cleaning again. If it still fails, the FINE cartridge likely needs replacement.
