The orange Alarm lamp flashing indicates a printer error, most likely an ink issue or a paper jam.
- Check the ink status lamps on the operation panel. If one is flashing or off, that cartridge is low or empty. Replace it.
- Clear any jammed paper. Turn the printer off, remove all paper from the front tray, check inside for scraps, then power it back on.
- If the Alarm lamp flashes during a cleaning cycle (two flashes for standard cleaning, three for deep cleaning), wait. The ON lamp will light solid when it's done. Do not touch the FINE cartridge holder or perform other operations until it stops.
If that didn't work: The print head might be clogged. Try a standard print head cleaning. With the power on, hold down the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes twice, then release. Wait 1-2 minutes for it to finish. Print a nozzle check pattern to see if quality improves.
Heads up: Forcing the FINE cartridge holder to stop can damage the printer. Let all movements complete on their own.
