my chamberlain b4545t opener just beeps constantly when i try to close the door, light flashes 10 times, what is that?

DIAGNOSIS That's the opener telling you something is blocking the safety reversal path. The 10-flash pattern specifically points to the safety sensors being misaligned or obstructed.

FIX First, check the small LED lights on the two sensor units mounted near the floor on either side of the door. The light on the receiving sensor (the one not wired directly to the opener) should be solid, not blinking. If it's blinking or off, the beam is broken. Clean the lenses with a dry cloth and make sure nothing is physically blocking the path between them. Loosen the bracket wingnuts, adjust the sensor until the receiving LED glows steady, and tighten them back up.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The wiring between the opener and the sending sensor might be pinched or damaged. Check the thin white wires running from the opener head unit down to the sensors. Look for any cuts, staples through them, or corrosion at the wire nuts where they connect.

HEADS UP Don't just bypass the sensors to close the door. That constant beep is a mandatory safety feature. If the sensors seem perfectly aligned but still flash, one of the sensor units itself might have failed and needs replacing.
